Solar outlook? Sunny, says NYTimes

You can look for solar output nationwide to increase by at least 500-600 megawatts this year, according to consultant Larry Sherwood. Sherwood compiles and studies such data for the nonprofit industry group Interstate Renewable Energy Council.

The reasons? Analysts cite Obama’s incentives ($2.3 billion in tax credits!) to the clean-energy sector and the falling cost of photovoltaic cells.

Florida is expected to make a strong showing for the first time this year, to the surprise of many residents in the sunny state.
